Synopsis

After his mother’s untimely death, a young Fakir(‘Trickster’) from the streets of Mumbai, ‘AJA’ (“Dhanush”), leaves for France to track down his estranged Father. From the moment, he arrives in Paris, nothing goes as planned. Aja falls instantly in love with a young American woman (“Erin Moriarty”) in a Swedish furniture store, wakes up in a truck full of Somalian Refugees (“Oscar Nominee Barkhad Abdi”) headed for England, is held hostage in a bureaucratic war, sorts out the love life of a Movie Star (“Oscar Nominee Berenice Bejo”), becomes a rich man for a few hours, crash lands on a merchant ship from a hot-air balloon and more. What was supposed to be a simple visit to Paris, turns into an Extraordinary Journey across France, England, Spain, Italy and Libya. Adapted from an International Best Seller Novel – “The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe”, the film is a Comic, Romantic, Adventure dealing with the issues of “Illegal Immigrants” and “Karma”, through a veritable journey of Aja.
